*** BOOK REVIEW: CAPTIVE BEAUTY BY NATASHA KNIGHT ***

5 star

This is my first book by Natasha Knight and I have NO IDEA why I waited so long to check out this author. This was an AMAZING book. From the first page this book gripped me in and I was not able to put it down.

I will say that this book is NOT for the faint of heart. It is DARK. There is so much anger, pain, sadness. These characters are broken beyond belief. The pain that they have gone through in their lives is unspeakable. Ms. Knight took a story (Beauty and the Beast) and just completely made it her own. The twists that she did in this book and with the characters is outstanding.

Priscilla “Cilla” Hawking is in the wrong place at the wrong time. She is now blindfolded and is bargaining for her brother’s freedom. She promises the man, “Kill” that he can have anything he wanted from her for 30 days as long as he doesn’t hurt her brother.

Killian “Kill” Black is angry that his guys messed up and brought this girl to his basement. He just wants to know what his cousin is up to and what Jones was thinking when he tried to sell Kill’s product. There is something about this girl though that makes him take her up on her offer.

I am speechless trying to come up with words to begin to do this book justice. The raw emotion that Ms. Knight is able to evoke from the reader is a testament to how talented she is as a writer. Like I said this book is NOT for the weak reader. You will have moments where you hate Killian, you will have moments where you ask yourself, why won’t she just stab his ass and run? But then, just as I am about to throw my kindle across the room, something happens. There is just a look between the characters, a moment that they share and you realize you are looking at two broken people who have nothing left to loose. Who have not known true love, or acceptance for MANY years. The devastation that Killian and Cilla have to overcome would break anyone, and the way that the cope, is breathtakingly beautiful in an ugly, gut wrenching way.

The character development is spot on. The complexity that she writes for each character is epic. The story flow was excellent, I couldn’t put the book down. Flow, plot, character development are ALL 5 stars for me. I will say that Natasha Knight has turned me into a huge fan. I am now going to devour everything she has ever written.
