*** BOOK REVIEW: THE INTERN BY ELLA KING ***

3 stars

The Intern is the first book I have read by author Ella King. This was about Carter and Alexa. Carter is a trust fund kid and lives the high life as a playboy. He has been given an ultimatum from his father, either become and intern or he is cut off from his trust fund. Carter must start from the BOTTOM and work his way up. Alexa is Carter’s boss and she drives him crazy, but he can’t stop thinking about her.

Okay, This was a quick read for me, and there were some enjoyable parts in the book, however I personally didn’t care for the characters. I understand that you are supposed to not really like Carter to start with and then watch his character grow, but I just never got to the point in this book where I liked his character and I think that diminished my enjoyment for the story line.

Overall, this was well written and it flowed well. I was able to get through the book and like I said there were some good parts. I love a great office romance so I was really hoping to enjoy this one as well. I will probably look into some other books by Ms. King. I enjoyed her writing style overall, I think this was just an ok one for me, but maybe in other ones I will love them 🙂
