The Scars I Bare by J.L. Berg was such a beautiful story of healing and finding love again. This is a standalone within a series and I can attest that you can follow along just fine as I haven’t read the first one (that will soon be fixed though).
Both of these characters were so broken in their own way. Dean, recovering from a terrible accident, and Cora trying to move past a bad marriage and raising her ADORABLE daughter Lizzie.
I don’t want to go into major detail with this one because honestly it is a MUST READ. I will say that the writing was amazing. It flowed so well, I didn’t feel like there was any part of this that dragged and I loved the way that Ms. Berg brought in the characters Journal and Blog entries. I rooted so hard for these characters because they totally deserved their happily ever after and the DO get it~ it just takes a while for them to work through the issues they both have.
Because anything I say will not do this book the justice it deserves,I am going to leave this review with saying, please just one click and read it. If you are looking for a story that provides you with damaged characters and want to see them overcome and grow, This is the ONE. This is one of my top reads for 2018 and I can’t wait to read more from J.L. Berg
