Mountain Manhattan is the story of Ford and Mia. Ford is a self proclaimed “Mountain Man” and he is in Manhattan for the next 8 weeks to build and install a sculpture for the mayor of the city. He meets Mia, the receptionist/concierge of the hotel where he is staying. Mia, is 23 and is taking care of her sister and brother after their mother passed away. She is doing everything that she can to make ends meet and doesn’t have time to date or to be with anyone.
Overall, this book was ok. I liked the premise of the story, but it felt a little disjointed at times. Some of the sentence structures were very choppy. This is the first book that I have read from this author, and it was decent. I think that there could have been a lot more to happen with this book and more development, but overall it was ok.
Ford and Mia were good characters, they both had their flaws but I didn’t feel that there was any unneeded drama in there. I would say that this is an instalove kind of book and the scenes were a little hotter than normal, but not melt my kindle hot. I really liked Mia’s little brother and sister. They were excellent characters and did great on comic relief.
If you are looking for a quick, sweet read with low angst I would recommend this one for you.
